Tarifa (Andalucia, Spain)

ENG. Tarifa – defo „a must” during a holiday visit in Southern Spain & Andalucia!

Tarifa ist a well preserved picturesque old town at the southernmost coast of the Europe´s mainland. It is located at the Costa de la Luz (Coast of Light) in Andalucia and only 14km northwards from Afrika. Normally by good visibility the Maroccan mountanous coast ist just there… across the waters of Strait of Gibraltar and 35 min by a fast ferry (Tarifa – Tanger). More info…

However, I´ve been a bit unlucky in that respect, as I could see only very weak silhuettes of the African mountains and lights of the Tanger harbour in the evening. While the weather in Tarif was clear with no single cloud, only few km. inland, to the west and down south, heavy clouds were hanging, spoiling my view… Well, I´ll have a good reason to go back to Tarifa!

But Tarifa offers so much for all tourist types – sport, culture, vast sandy beaches, nice bars and parties and much more. I´ve walked long sandy beaches, watched super fit wind- and kite-surfers, jumped the waves in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean which meet in here, as always in Spain had delicious food and special here a wonderful fresh fish, experienced evening city parties with people of all ages dancing and having fun together etc. Only 2 days but it was so relaxing! Have a look!
